Change the Phone?
I have been thinking about this for quite some time - perhaps for the past two years - if you don’t know, my current phone is a sony ericsson w810i. Its quite old now. So far it hadn’t given me any major problems - but feature wise its lacking when compared to any modern phone. So I am thinking to replace it with an iphone (or an android based one). If I am getting an iphone, I am also thinking to get an ihome ip42 so that both complements each other.

Remote Controller for Gaming Consoles
As some of you guys may know that there are three main gaming consoles available today - Nintendo’s Wii, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3. At the present moment according to wikipedia, Wii leads over the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in worldwide sales. The wii remote controller is a handheld pointing device and detects movement in 3D. But its facing stiff competition from PlayStation Move and Kinect for Xbox 360. But I hope that this competition brings some awesome gaming in the future.

PSP and PSV
PSP (PlayStation Portable) is a hand held gaming console by Sony. There are lots of new psp games available for this cute little thing. But I am looking forward for the upcoming Sony PSV (PlayStation Vita) which should bring hand held gaming to a newer level. Its seems to have all the features - touchscreen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, front camera, rear camera, stereo speakers, microphone, motion sensing system, GPS etc. It also uses Vita Cards, a new proprietary flash card format. The 3G model is said to cost around $300.

Buy a camera or a camera phone?
I still haven’t decided whether to go for a camera phone or a full blown camera. If I am going for a full blown camera, then I have looked into some options like FujiFilm’s S2950 or S3200, Canon PowerShot SX30 or SX230IS. The camera’s from FujiFilm offers good value but Canon offers the higher image quality.
Another thing that most people overlook is the battery that these cameras are using. S2950 and S3200 - both use AA batteries which are commonly available everywhere, but they make the cameras a little bulky. The canon camera batteries in SX30 are proprietary - this makes the camera less bulky than its predecessor SX20, but you might find it difficult to get a spare battery when your battery is down.

A mobile phone with optical zoom
Of course we have digital cameras with digital zoom - but most of the mobiles that we have today are having just digital zoom which is very ugly. I am currently using a Sony Walkman phone - w810i which only has digital zoom. What I want is a mobile phone with optical zoom. I have researched online for such a phone. I found some phones like the Samsung SCH-W880, Altek Leo etc. Perhaps if some one has found a better mobile phone, please leave a comment.
