Mange is a contagious skin disease caused by parasitic mites. Its more commonly found in dogs, cats and other livestock. But mange in dogs are more common. Some varieties of mites may even infect humans. Don’t worry, there are treatments for this. Most veterinarians will likely prescribe an ointment or medicated shampoo that contains benzoyl peroxide and perhaps also antibiotics. Your pet may require need long-term, intensive treatment.
