Kerala Pazhani Chocherikunnu Sree Subramanya Swami Temple is located in Thrissur district, Kerala State, South India.
Lord Subramanian is the main deity. Sub dieties include Lord Shiva, Sree Parvathi, Ganapathi, Swami Ayyppan, Sreeraman, Hanuman Swami, Nagas etc.
Temple is placed on hill top with a very beautiful view of surrounding valley and Thrissur area.
If you are coming via bus, you can reach the temple from saktan stand. Travel the buses through Ponnukara, Vettukad or Marotichal route.
There are two ways to reach the Kerala Pazhani Chocherikunnu Sree Subramanya Swami Temple top from below the road.
You can either choose to take steps or choose to take your car or bike via a small road up the hill and park on top.
The road is a bit steep, so be careful.
The steps are easy to climb, but if there is elderly or if your health isn’t ok, take the road.
The main ceremony here is the head shaving or thala mundanam.
This can be done in all days in the morning time from 6:30am to 9:30am.
The temple is open in the morning from 5:30 am to 10:30am, in the evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
This Kerala Pazhani Chocherikunnu Sree Subramanya Swami Temple has the same vazhipadu or rituals as in the famous Pazhani or Palani located in Tamil Nadu. Hence called Kerala Pazhani.
Feeding rooms and washrooms available here. They are well kept.
The temple is still under development.
You can enter temple by wearing pants/jeans.
If you are just visiting the temple and not for thala mundanam, then the best time is before the sunset.
The sunset here is just breath taking.
The temple itself provides a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, its completely isolated from busy streets and vehicles.
This calm and serene place will take us to another world.
