I have recently been having problems getting some new games to work in Windows because some of them require newer versions of DirectX. Finding the version of DirectX installed on my PC was the key in troubleshooting the issues. Here’s how you do it.
1. Click Start > Run
2. Type dxdiag and click OK.
3. The version of DirectX you are currently running will be displayed on your screen.
NOTE: You can get a lot more info besides the DirectX version. You can get details about drivers, hardware etc.
