No Time To Die is the final time that we see the actor Daniel Craig playing the iconic James Bond character. This is the 25th film in the franchise and the 5th time that Daniel Craig played the character.
We first saw him playing 007 in Casino Royale. He bought an edge and roughness to the character not seen previously.
This is the first Bond film to be distributed by Universal Pictures
No Time To Die Poster
In this movie, he is retired, but has to come back to play when he is recruited by his CIA friend Felix Leiter (played by Jeffrey Wright – this will also most likely his last Bond movie).
No Time To Die has the usual regulars from the previous Bond movies – Léa Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Ralph Fiennes as Gareth Mallory/M, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner.
The new names include Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin, Lashana Lynch as Nomi, Billy Magnussen as Logan Ash, Ana de Armas as Paloma, David Dencik as Dr. Valdo Obruchev, Dali Benssalah as Primo.
I felt that even though the director (Cary Joji Fukunaga) did well with this movie but couldn’t bring up the acting powers of Christoph Waltz, Rami Malek and Ralph Fiennes. Even Rami who is the main antagonist doesn’t get adequate screen time. So I felt that they weren’t able to shine with their roles.
Others like Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, Dali Benssalah created some incredible presence with their roles.
Personally I liked the movie. The action is slick, there are some nostalgic moments with the 1964 Aston Martin DB5, some really funny moments (the women are not keen to sleep with Bond anymore.. ) and very heartbreaking sad end that’s not seen in previous Bond movies.
