Rayiranellur Malayil Bhagavathy Temple located in Naduvattam in between koppam – Valancheri route of Palakkad district, is one of the beautiful hill temples in Kerala.
There are two ways to top, one is concreted and having good steps which leads us to top clearly. Other is a wild path, filled with stones and bushes.
For first time visitors it is always safe to take the first path.
But either way its a rigorous climb to top. Not easy for those who are not physically fit. However, it is a nice experience.
Malayalam month Thulam 1 st is the festival day, this is the day in which its crowded.
Rayiranellur mala is known for its mythical story of Naranathu Branthan who is well-known character in ‘Parayi petta panthirukulam’ story .
The temple is only open until 8 am except Sunday when it will be open until 9am.
Inside the temple we can see “Boomi devi” feet and small perennial fountain its not drain in any hard summer.
There is also a statue of Naranathu Branthan.
The sight from the top is very majestic. We can see the Pattambi town from the top.
This hill has many stories attached with Narayanathu branthan.
This is the place where he used to bring rocky stones from the downside with so much labour and he just pushes it from the top wasting all his efforts and philosophically laughs at his work and thus indicates the meaningless of this life.
PS: Carry drinking water, snacks (veg only) on the climb. You will most likely need these as you will get tired.
