I have another one to add to my dream travel destination – Aruba (Well I hope I can travel to these places someday.. I am not able to save any money these days..lol.) Okay lets talk about my new place..

Aruba location

See the extract below from travelblog.org about Aruba

Discovered and claimed for Spain in 1499, Aruba was acquired by the Dutch in 1636. The island’s economy has been dominated by three main industries. A 19th century gold rush was followed by prosperity brought on by the opening in 1924 of an oil refinery. The last decades of the 20th century saw a boom in the tourism industry. It seceded from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986 and became a separate, autonomous member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Movement toward full independence was halted at Aruba’s request in 1990.

It has a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. Aruba is renowned for its white, sandy beaches on the western and southern coasts of the island, relatively sheltered from fierce ocean currents.

Now I am mostly travelling locally, still the local places are left much to be covered.. you will love the places and festivals in my Thrissur..
