Panchalimedu is a great place to spend a misty evening.
Legend has it that the mythical Mahabharatha heroes Pandavas along with their wife Panchali took shelter here during their exile – hence the name Panchalimedu – medu meaning hill.
One can even witness the auspicious Makaravilakku at Sabarimala from these hills.
Its also kind of a disputed place – its both a scared place for the Hindus as well as the Christians.
There is a Sree Bhuvaneswari Temple on one side and you will find crosses on the other side.
But beyond as a religious place, this is a great place to spend your time with your family, especially in the evening.
Normally the mist engulfs the entire place in the evening.. It was quite open and we were able to see everything for a long distance when we reached there. But suddenly at around 6pm the mist or fog came in and we couldn’t see beyond 10 meters. It was awesome.
