Thechikkottukavu Temple

Thechikkottukavu Temple is the heart of Peramanagalam village.

Its 10 kms away from Thrissur town and is just 1km from the NH connecting Thrissur and Guruvayoor.

It is famous for the temple elephant “Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran” or simply known as Raman.

Its one of the tallest elephants in India.

You could also say that the temple became popular because of Ramachandran.

The pooram/vela is celebrated on 2 consecutive days – the first day for pooram and second day for vela.
