Urakathamma Thiruvadi Temple is situated in the village of Urakam in Thrissur district, Kerala State, India.
The famous temple situated there, is the first amongst the major 108 Durga temples installed by Lord Parasurama, popularly called as “Ammathiruvadi Temple”.
Navaratri, Thrikkarthika, Pooram, Illam Nira are the famous annual festivals.
The temple structure is very old and is fully made of laterite, surkki and other materials. No trace of cement concrete anywhere.
As per experts Devi is sitting here like Vishnu (shankh Chakra gada pathmam). Also has Crescent moon on her forehead meaning she is like Siva!
