This was on my radar as it had one of my favorite action stars – Joe Taslim. He is not the main character here in the series, but I watched it as I am a big fan of his work.
In this series the main role is by Andrew Koji who plays Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who emigrates from China in search of his sister, only to be sold to one of the most powerful tongs in Chinatown set during the Tong Wars in late 1870s San Francisco.
I liked the series for its pretty good action scenes and sex scenes. The action choereography was pretty good for a series. In each episode you are guarenteed an action scene.
Same with the sex scenes. You can expect atleast one good sex scene comparable to a soft porn movie per episode.
The story said to be based on Bruce Lee’s concept is nothing much to be talked about. This is like any bruce lee movie, its not the story that matters but the action. I am not teling that the story is that boring, but thats not why you watch this one.
Its enjoyable for someone who would like to enjoy the action along with the sex scenes. That is blood, gore and nudity combined with cheesy dialogues. Can’t watch it with family or kids but perfect for watching alone or with friends.
I binge watched the two seasons. Its watchable as long as you could enjoy the above said reasons.
