K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100 Review – Exclusive First on the Internet

84 / 100

K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100 from K-Win Power is the big brother of the 1100 that I have reviewed earlier. This is a 24v – double battery system. And as I specified in the reviews before me, this may be a beta product which was given to me for testing – the final product in the market may be completely different than the one shown and reviewed here.

This one too has all the features that I have specified in the review of the 1100, like the LCD screen, setting up the battery type, solar modes (hybrid, light and ultra), further you can edit almost all parameters like charging voltage, battery low cut voltage, maximum grid charging current, maximum solar charging current, grid disconnect voltage etc. So I am not going into those further.

If I get the time, I will be setting up a separate article on how to setup the parameters and the possible use of editing the parameters according to your requirement.

If you have checked out the pictures you will see that the box specifies the existence of 1600 va and 2500 va models also. Not sure if these are available now or if they will be available in the future.

It has AC fuse outside and DC fuses inside.

But what I am going through in this is about the overall performance of this solar inverter when compared with the competition.

I am using a Microtek 2035 va solar inverter at home, so I can compare the two. My Microtek 2035 was able to run my Godrej 190L fridge along with my lights and fans. It was also able to run my 0.5 hp water pump, but not along with with the fridge. If I want to run the motor on solar, I had to change to switch off almost all of the loads.

Now with this K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100 seems to handle the load far better. Its able to run the motor along with the fridge, TV, 2 lights and 1 fan at the same time. Now that’s how it got my approval.

It also seems to utilize my panels (4 no:s of 330watts – total 1320 watts) much better. Also I set the solar charging current to max of 10 amps so that my batteries are not damaged. If you have bigger solar batteries or if you are completely offline in the night, you can increase the solar charging current to the battery to up to 50 amps.

Don’t know if it will run a 1 hp pump set cause I don’t have one.

Advantages of K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100

* 50 Amps charge controller – can connect up to 1800 watts panel
* Seems to handle loads pretty well when compared to competition.
* Cost – if you noticed the MRP on the box is only Rs. 13500 – so expect it to be available at around 9000 to 10000.
Edit: The price may be at least 13,000 for the customer, it might be more than 13,500 in the future.
* Features and minute changes that can be made in the settings is huge
* 30 months service warranty

Disadvantages of K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100

Availability and Service – don’t know if this will be available all across India, and they will need time to setup a good service network

Conclusion about K-Win True Solar Hybrid PCU 2100

The main points here also are the more powerful 50 amps charge controller and ability to handle the loads more effectively than the competition. This is a good product if they can get the pricing, availability, and service right.
